We teach kids in Bamenda to build with technology, so a war doesn't get to decide how far they go.
Their week is a day shorter.
There is a civil war going on in Bamenda. One of the things it has changed is the school week. Mondays there are called “Country Sunday,” and the children stay home. They go to school Tuesday through Friday, while kids in the rest of Cameroon go five days a week.
Lose a day every week and it adds up fast. We kept asking ourselves one question: could technology help close that gap? Could it help these kids keep learning and catch up with the rest of the country? That question is why Glappy Foundation exists.
Technology and IoT, in real classrooms.
We work alongside schools in the region and teach children technology and IoT, which means connecting small devices, sensors, and code to things they can see and touch. It's the same kind of work Glappy does every day, scaled down to fit a classroom and handed to kids who are curious and ready.
